About 912Photos.com | Deb Phillips

Deb Phillips, Freelance PhotographerI’m Deb Phillips, a freelance photographer and writer based in Lewisville, North Carolina. Due to government actions and policies, I’ve grown increasingly concerned about the direction of our country. Yet I’ve also been inspired by the many Americans who are exercising their First Amendment rights in the spirit of the 9•12 Project.

In 2009, feeling as though I needed to begin doing more, I decided to document the September 12, 2009 Washington, DC Tea Party Rally. It was my participation in that historic event that spurred the launch of this website.

Articles & Photo Galleries

The first photo gallery on 912Photos.com — the Washington, DC Tea Party photo gallery contains over 300 select images from the 2009 DC Tea Party event. In that gallery, you’ll see the faces, the signs — and the passion — of concerned Americans from all across the country who converged on Washington, DC on September 12, 2009.

Since that groundbreaking 2009 DC Tea Party rally, I’ve documented a number of Tea Party/conservative rallies. I also covered the progressive One Nation Working Together Rally and the very unusual Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, both of which were held in Washington, DC in October 2010. I felt it was important to document those particular non-conservative rallies.

I invite you to visit the Article Archives page, which provides links for all the rallies I’ve covered. You’ll see lots of photos and get to read my impressions of each event.

Our “Fair Inheritance”

The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation — enlightened as it is — if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men. ~Samuel Adams

Yes, my fellow Americans, we must defend our “fair inheritance” — our liberties, our freedoms and our Constitution — for there are indeed those who are intent on wresting them from us.

Shields high.
